I am inspired by nature and all that surrounds me, including life's circumstances. I love creating images that have layers of texture, colors and light. I use a variety of mediums to accomplish a balance between them all. The feelings I get while walking along the path of still waters or fields of pastures is what I put on canvas or wood. I love to express the emotions and experience of that moment in time. The process of applying graphite, oil pastels, paper, fabric and paint with brushes and pallet knives is done in layers. I use paint mediums to make the layers transparent in areas so the history of the painting is visible. The art work is an experience of time shared by the visions of the mind.
The cedar frames are custom made, hand stained, and fitted to each painting or piece of artwork. I grew up in the hill country and played in the woods. As a child we were constantly building treehouses and there were trees with strong branches and others were delicate. If trees could talk they could give wisdom on strength and grace. The core structure of a tree that extends has a spiritual foundation that bears vines and fruit.
